Last week of our course

This week is last week of our online course. All these 10 weeks we had rich reading materials for reading and dicsussions  and blog writing. I get used now writing in blog.I will  encourag my students to use blogs. We will create our own class blog where students will write and  have their own as well.

 I just want to thank our dear instructor Courtney for being very supportive and undestanding. I had some challanges learning this course but did all my best to finish it.I did my besog write  i know i missed some blog writing and posting in nicenet. But i visited and re read and copied all reading and post of our coursemates. I learned alot from our coursemates. Thanks alot  to all.

technology integration

 Technology integration nowadays.
Nowadays our state require to integrate technology in education. Soon every subject teacher will be provided with one computer in the classroom to use it as visual aid in order to motivate and engage students in learning process. Our school now have  two labs with old and new computers but without internet access. Internet is  still expensive. Teachers bring their own internet modem if they want to teach or demonstrtae something.Some of the students alreday have computers in their houses. Students now can not imagine their life without computer. Computers now take the place of TV sets.There are number of internet cafes and computer stations where students go and play.
At school i do not have computer but i bring my laptop wiht myself. I do many things with my computer.
- Go through website and search diffrent information realted to topic of my lesson
-find lesson plans
-seach different games and play educational games
-listen to songs
- create lesson plans in Word and store them on file server, create and print handouts for students that can be saved and modified in future years)
-Conduct one-computer classroom lessons 
-online quizzes and diagnostic tools, graph 
-take tests online

I agree  about reasons for integrating technology integration is the necessity of today's students to have 21st century skills.

These 21st century skills include

• personal and social responsibility
• planning, critical thinking, reasoning, and creativity
• strong communication skills, both for interpersonal and presentation needs
• cross-cultural understanding
• visualizing and decision making
• knowing how and when to use technology and choosing the most appropriate tool for the task

week 9

This is week 9 and  this week  we have reading about  learning styles.
I learned new  information about learning style. I knew about learning style but did not use it alot in my classroom. Here is in this website http://www4.ncsu.edu/unity/lockers/users/tf/felder/public/ILSdir/styles.htm I get some wonderful insights about learning style and strategies.

• Active learners tend to retain and understand information best by doing something active with it--discussing or applying it or explaining it to others. Reflective learners prefer to think about it quietly first.

Technology is a greate tool for students to do.  For example they can create blogs, reicord their voice, create digital stories etc.

Final project is submitted

This is week 9 and  i can't believe we finished this course  the time flew very fast. So many new ideas and information i learned. Today i submitted my final project.I hope i did it correctly as it is my first report. I will do my best to teach my students this project i created. Final project draft

 It was alittle  difficult to do my work and post it due to some problems. But i  did my best to upload my draft report. I had chance to read Muhammad's Tariq's and Eva's report draft.They did amazing job. I liked Eva's fedback and i did osme improvement in my report. I had some challanges while doing the report plan. Because we learned so many new things in this online course and it was very hard to choose which of them to apply in our classroom. I am not teaching this sememsyer  but i prepared the plan report for future next year in spring semester for my 6th graders.To improve their listening and speaking and reading skills.

week 8

 I am very late to rply to my reflective blog of week 8. bUt i will share what i learned.  The task was create online tool to enhance learning. I have learaaned form this course about quizlet.I decided to use this website. As we do flashcards and use them alot on our lessons. My students create them from papers. But now i learned how to create them online. here is my example.

Using One Computer in the Classroom

There is problem with lack of classrooms in public school in our town.There is only two english classroom.Two teachers has classroom  and other english teachers move from classroom to classroom when they have a lesson. The same with me.So the article about Using one computer in the classroom gave me wonderful ideas what kind of activities to use. This week i learned about this amazing website for wallwisher.It give you blank wall  and you will  write whatever you want. I planning to use this on my next trainining with teachers. I will use it at the end of the workshop.I will ask each teacher to write what article or womething new they learned during the training. I can you it with students .

week 6

Again what a rich week with lots of reading. We learned about how to engage students in large classes.  The numbr of students in one class is from 35-45. For us it is large class.Beside we have problem with not enough chairs and desks. In large classes is good to teach coorperative learning. I learn many activtiies  some of them i already used in class.Some challange i had creating interactive power point. I thought inew about power point but creating it was alittle hard.  But i did one small one and shared on wiki. In future  when i will use power point  to make lesson intersting using  different games like jeopardy and have vocabulary  and readng quizzes.

In this week 5 i have learned about Web quest  from Zunal website. It wonderful website full of webquest. I havenever used it before. For the first time i created my own. It isjust exampple. I will create some more. It is just begining. :)

Technoloy related change.

We have electricity problem and internet access. For all schools in our town there are 14 schools there is no internet access. Internet isluxury and expensive. ring But some teachers buy their own dial-up 50 kb modem which has internet and use it when they want to show somthing in Internet. I have the same modem and bring it and put in my laptop and show some websites or video.

Week 5 Project Based Learning

hello everyone,

Project based learning is a great approach. it creates friendly learning environment where students learn language for purpose. It foster motivation and develop critical thinking in students. I got familiar with pbl  last year. I myself did not do but I joined other teachers to do projects.  One English teacher in our town did several projects and I joined her project Folk Tale and  Digital Storytelling and Photojournalism this year. When I was reading article by Susan Gaer I saw folktale project she did with class was the same like we did. Our English teacher like to  to join to projects from www.iearn.org  she took Folk tale project from there. The task was to take one Tajik folk tale and translate  it in English and publish  and share with our countries. She also asked students to illustrate the folk tales.  In such way we had 30 folk tales and got grant and published our book. This project had great success. Students were happy to see the result of their work. They read a folk tale to elementary school and kindergarten. Every students had their task to do: some searched book with Tajik folk tale, some had to  translate them, some typed  inMs word and every one after submitting folk tale  read other countries folk tale and discussed in group and looked for moral. Students become very interested  and motivated.They stood out from other  students at school.  This project increased their self esteem.  They become very proud when they accomplished all  the projects.

But as for rubric we do not use it PBL it is something for me. But now I realize how it is very important to assess student.

In future I plan to do my own pbl.I become very interested.

week 4

 This week is very rich and challenging.Interesting and useful readings and describing our class.

I teach in public school.My class is 6th grade. The problem my school has with technology.We have computers only in computer lab and other classrooms has no computers, As for me i bring my laptop to class and show some video related to the topic for example if it is weather i show song from youtube or any listening. The second issue is Our textbooks are very old and have no coloful pages and not ennough materisls provided in each unit. For example is it is Passive voice there are less exercises to it. And there is no absolutley listening tasks and no any Cds for listening. I serach from internet listening exercises, dilogues for my class. And if we have topic London there are not enough information about it and no any photos. And students will get no idea how London look like. And here will be good to use Power Point. I download photos of places of interest in London and show it to my students ans video as well. In such way students will get idea how London look like and technology will motivate students. That day when i bring my computer and games my students are vry happy and very engaged in learning. I dream to have whiteboard or interactive board.

And writing ABC objective was a little challanging but it is something new. I will use it with my colleagues.

I have read Article by Jarek Krajka http://iteslj.org/Techniques/Krajka-WritingUsingNet.html. This website give me full information how enhance technology in lesson. As i am young teacher i need some ideas how use technology in my lessonls. From this artice i learned how use emailing haveing pan pals, creating webpages and webpublishing. But in my case i can use onlu emailing with my students. As my students do not know technology well. Creating webistes or webpublishing will be diffciult for them. But i can introduce them emails.They open accounts and start wrriting to each other to improve writing. I consider writing very diffcult skills. My students makes lots of mistakes. In our curriculum we have to focus in reading and writing. So I think i will use emailing. Before i had class we had a box and students wrote on piwcw of paper letters to each other.It improved alittle writing. I took those letters and checked some spelling and then we discussed them in class as warm up activity.

I found another website by Lauri's ESL Website http://fog.ccsf.edu/~lfriedvery useful as well.I liked grammar and listening sections they are good for my class. I think my students will like this website. 

An ABCD objective I would state would be: "6th grade students will be able to develop reading and writing skills through writing emails each other .

week 3

Ora skill building
 This week 3 was vry informative and useful . So manuy new website i have  read in my online colleague's posts for listening  and pronounciation skills. I learned  about the Pre-, While- and Post- listening technique to use for listeing in article by Lindsey Miller.Very interesting article.
We learned from delicious.com how to save our links. I save lots  of links from this week's course here i will share with my page https://delicious.com/akbars.

From all websites i like Vocarooan record, it is very easy  to record your voice and post it in your page. I have idea to use it  with my students  students will record themselves and will listen to each other. I can record myself and use it as dictation.  As we have no computer in our class i can bring my laptop to use. 

Hi friends ! 

This course helped me in google search how to search an articles, video or audio materials. We have just one computer in class which connected to internet via USB-modem because we had any other line with internet. I explained them how to search correctly in internet. 
I hope other friends will share what kind of methods they are using to make lessons more interesting and useful. We have no so many ways of teaching via Web so i am waiting for your ideas.
